If graveside or processional service/mourners remain after 4p.m., the overtime rate will be charged for burial services and the closing of the gravesite.

Rules & Regulations

  1. All winter decorations to be removed by April 1.
  2. All summer decorations to be removed by November 1.
  3. The planting of trees or shrubs is prohibited.
  4. Real, plastic or silk flowers must be in containers. Wreaths must be equipped with standards and anchored in the ground.
  5. Plants, urns, containers and flag markers must be placed in line with headstones
  6. No enclosure of any kind including stone, metal, wood or shrubbery, will be permitted around any lot or grave.
  7. No wooden or iron headboards, markers, marble chips, stones, tripods, chains, ornaments, glass bottles, fruit jars, tin cans, or any other than standard flower pots on movable stands shall be allowed on any lot or grave.
  8. Trellises may be erected over monuments or markers if they are of approved design and placed with permission of the sexton.
  9. No dumping of trash or debris thrown on a driveway, or any part of the cemetery grounds.
  10. No vandalizing, defacing, graffiti or other injury to any marker or memorial, sign, tree, or other lawful item located within the cemetery.
  11. No picking or mutilation of any flowers, or disturbance of any tree, shrub or other plant material.
  12. No consumption or carrying of alcoholic beverages on grounds.
  13. No picnics or consumption of food on cemetery grounds.
  14. No playing of music, radio, or any other amplification device except in a military ceremony, funeral or memorial event.
  15. No dog or domestic animal to run at large in Cemetery.
  16. No operation of any off-road motorcycle, snowmobile, four-wheeler, go-cart or similar vehicle on cemetery grounds.
  17. No one is to be on cemetery grounds between sunset and sunrise with the exception of Village employees, Village officials on related business, law enforcement officers or emergency personnel.
  18. No driving in excess of 15 miles per hour on any cemetery road.
  19. No driving off established roads unless permission is given in writing by the Village Clerk.

 

Violation of these rules is deemed a misdemeanor, subject to a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500) plus costs of prosecution and imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days or both.
